Thank you once more for being here with us and reading our blog. Makes the journey easier when it becomes hard and happier when it is full of joy.
If you have been following us on Facebook you will know that our house has been under contract again. Yes! Under contract again! Let me stop for a second here so I explain what we are doing. Our Real State Agents are showing the house to people they have in their client list and they know what they are looking for. This way, we narrow down our possibilities as much as we can and we save up some money on marketing the property. So far it has worked, we have had two view and two contracts. But keep reading so you know more…
We showed the potential buyers the house on a Thursday and they placed an offer the following day. We had them carrying a pest and building inspection. Yes, we have had another pest and building inspection. One a fortnight ladies and gentleman! We will soon become experts…
We showed the potential buyers the house on a Thursday and they placed an offer the following day.
During the inspection I got to meet the buyers. They are a young couple looking to buy their first house together. They have never lived together before… She was so excited, had so many plans for it. She loved the bathroom and her mother loved the ensuite downstairs. So far so good. The report came up with no major incidents, only the little things an old house has.
So it was all good until Saturday, the day after the inspection, when we received a call from our Real State agent asking for a document form the City Council that would say that our house was built by a registered builder. Evan saw a report from the Council when we bought the house 2.5 years ago but we didn’t have such a thing. We know we have to contact the Council and pay a fee for them to issue such document. So, the Real State Agent called the potential buyers and told them that we didn’t have it but that their solicitors could check with the City Council and get a report. We were happy to pay for the fees for that document.

Next thing we know, on Monday, we receive a call from our solicitors saying that the potential buyers have cancelled the contract. Again!!!! Whaaaaaaattttt??? You are cancelling on us again?! This is the second time. The first time happened a week ago, we told you about it in our blog Learning How To Live Our Dreams.
Yes people, again. They have pulled out again with no apparent reason. Because the Real State Agent has found the report they are asking for! The first lady who put an offer had done the research already. Our Real State Agent called the solicitors to see if they had done a research and they said they had the document so they sent it to him. But these guys don’t want it. So we don’t understand what is happening. We have a copy of the building and pest inspection and there is nothing there… Cold feet again… Apparently our Real State agent spoke to one of the potential buyers and she was very sad and disappointed… I guess the boyfriend won’t get much lovin’ for a while…
On Monday, we received a call from our solicitors saying that the potential buyers have cancelled the contract. Again?!
So what does this all mean now? Those who know me (Clara) are aware of my taste for metaphysical stuff. And so I started wondering, why are these people pulling out with no apparent reason? What is happening?
I do believe that everything happens for us. We attract people in our lives that play a role in a lesson that everyone benefits from (if they chose to do so), so imagine the intelligence of the universe to have everything set up and under control.
And so on Monday, there I am, wondering what this was all about. I suddenly thought: we need to rent it out. I can’t get rid of this house. My son was born in it. It hit me. Remember how I finished the post about how we sold it the first time? I said “PS: Only one thing makes me sad about selling the house and is that our son Leo was born in it.”
And after I got that “I got the solution!” the moment I remembered a promise I made to myself when our son Luke was born. I wanted to own the houses where my kids were born. Me selling this house was killing that dream.
I have been told I have an emotional attachment to the house. I don’t think so, I was going to sell it. But if I can keep it, I will.
Have we been self sabotaging the process? I don’t think so. But if we have been doing so in order to preserve a dream and prevent it from dying, then yes. And I am glad we have been doing so.
The more dreams you have and the more you collect, the happier you are.
I have been told that the more you have, the heavier you become. If you say so. But not with dreams. The more dreams you have and the more you collect, the happier you are. I want to own the places where my kids were born. That peace of land where they decided to enter the world. It is sacred. And if we can keep it, we will.
So for me, what this really means is the following. When you start following a dream, another one will come to the surface so you also address it.
Do you remember those dreams you have when you were little? Those promises you made to yourself?
When you start following a dream, another one will come to the surface so you also address it.
For me, it is keeping the houses where my kids were born. For now I own Leo’s place of birth. By selling the house I was giving up on that dream. Now that I have addressed it, I am happy, relieved and I actually don’t care if they have pulled out again! (seriously, again?!?! hahahaha!).
And for Evan, he has always wanted to make a living out of property. He was a bit reluctant at the beginning about selling the house. He had the same thought today and he is actually quite happy and positive about it.
We believe our heart is set up. 🙂
Plus if we didn’t have these experiences we wouldn’t have anything interesting to say! So you are welcome guys, for the entertainment side of things. 😉
What is meant to be is meant to be. You don’t know where life will take you, only that you will see places, if you let life take over. Remember, life happens for you.
I hope you have liked this. We didn’t expect anything quite like it. Again, we are learning how to live our dreams.
We are as happy and excited as we have been since we gave birth to this dream. And it will start walking very soon. We hope you can see it.
So stay tuned! And enjoy the ride.
